Ruler
The Ruler measures distances on the map in squares, without moving anything. It's for knowing how many cells lie between two points — a spell's range, a charge's distance, how far the door is — with the option to trace a multi-waypoint path. It's a local tool: you (or the player using it) see the measure, it doesn't go out to the others.
How to use it
Select 📏 Ruler in the toolbar (selection/measure group), then:
- Left-click to start the measure from the first point.
- More left-clicks to add waypoints: the line follows the cursor between clicks, and on each waypoint you see the cumulative total in squares.
- Right-click to close the measure.
The closed measure stays on screen until you start another one with a new left-click (or switch tools). So you can consult it calmly while you decide.
Multi-waypoint path
The Ruler doesn't only make straight lines: by adding waypoints it traces a broken path and sums the squares along the whole route, exactly like the movement paths. Useful to measure a way around an obstacle, not just the straight-line distance.
Who can use it
The Ruler is available both in your staging desk and in the player view: each player can measure on their own screen. Since it's local, different measures don't disturb each other and cost nothing.
