Closed beta

GameMasterBuddy is currently in closed beta: anyone can ask to join, but access is opened by an administrator, it isn't automatic. This lets the service grow at a steady pace and lets us follow the first Game Masters using it closely. Here's how signup, waiting and approval work.

How to sign up

  1. From the site landing page, click "Sign up for the beta".
  2. Fill in the request form with your email.
  3. Submit the request: it enters a list that administrators see in the management panel.

From this point your request is registered and waiting to be reviewed.

Login and the "pending" account

You access the product with Google. Mind the right order: the Google login does not create an account unless you've filed the beta request first. If you try to enter without having signed up, the system sends you back to the form (with your email pre-filled) to complete the signup.

When your first login succeeds, the account starts in the "pending" state:

  • you have 0 credits;
  • the tools are locked;
  • you see a message telling you that you're awaiting approval.

This is a normal phase: it means you're in the system but the administrator hasn't opened the gate yet.

Approval

An administrator reviews the requests and approves you with a click. At that moment:

  • your account goes from "pending" to free;
  • you receive the free level's periodic credit allocation (which tops up every week);
  • the tools unlock and you can start using the app.
The bilingual confirmation email

On approval you get a welcome email in Italian and English. It's an HTML message with the GameMasterBuddy letterhead (dark background, logo, gold frame) confirming that your account is active. From there you can log in and get started.

What to do while you wait

If you've filed the request and haven't been approved yet, there's nothing special to do: approval is manual and comes when an administrator processes it. If you think there's a problem with your request or email, you can write to support. Remember that, since the beta is a growing channel, approval times aren't instant.
