For players: join & play

This page is for players, not the master. If your Game Master uses GameMasterBuddy, they'll send you an invite link: just open it to join the online table and play from your browser, on a computer or tablet. You don't need to install anything and usually don't need an account.

Joining the table

  1. Open the invite link the GM sent you: you land on the play page (/gioca).
  2. You see the map with its grid, the pawns and the shadowed areas (the fog): the shadow is what your group hasn't explored yet.
  3. If the GM assigned you a character, your pawn is already on the map, with your name and hit points.

What you see is decided by the GM: areas covered by fog and hidden pawns don't appear to you. As you advance, the map reveals itself.

Moving your pawn

You don't drag the pawn: you propose a path and the GM confirms it.

  1. Click your pawn: a small menu appears around it (radial menu).
  2. Choose 🏃 Movement: then click the waypoints of your route on the map, one after another. Each waypoint shows how many squares you've travelled in total.
  3. Right-click to close the path. Your proposal is visible to everyone.
  4. The GM confirms it (the pawn moves) or rejects it. If they change their mind, they can also move you themselves.

From the menu you can also choose ⚔ Action to declare what you do: it ends up in the table chat. Sometimes the GM locks autonomous movement: in that case you can still propose, but the pawn only moves with their go-ahead.

Measuring distances

You have the Ruler too: select it, click to start and to add waypoints, right-click to close. It tells you the distance in squares and is yours alone (others don't see it). Useful to check whether you reach with an attack or a spell.

Talking, writing and rolling dice

At the table there's the chat for writing, the dice (rolls are computed by the server, the same for everyone) and the built-in voice: you can talk with the group directly in the browser, without opening Discord or other programs. When the GM projects a sheet or a text, you see it appear on your screen in a box you can close.

If something doesn't show

If the map looks frozen or empty, it's often because the GM is preparing (NO LIVE): they're setting up the scene and will show you everything when they go live again. If the connection drops for a moment, the view realigns by itself as soon as you reconnect.
