Notes

Notes is your session notepad, with a real Markdown editor: you write text with headings, lists and bold, and review it formatted in a preview. It's for on-the-fly notes, the evening's outline, notes on an NPC or a clue, all kept tidy and readable. It's free, runs in the browser and spends no credits. You'll find it as a page of its own and as a block in the Board.

Writing and previewing

The editor has two views:

  • Edit: you write the text in Markdown.
  • Preview: you see the formatted result, with headings, lists and bold rendered in the app's colors for a clear read.

So you don't have to remember the syntax, there are quick buttons: H for a heading, for a bulleted list, B for bold. Write the way you speak and format with a click.

Opening and saving .md files

Notes works with the files on your computer:

  • Open: you load an existing text/Markdown file to keep working on it.
  • Save .md: you export your notes as a .md file to disk.

On browsers that support it, opening and saving happen directly on the file; where it isn't available, saving falls back to an ordinary download. This way you can keep your notes outside the app too, in a folder of your own.

Persistence

The tool autosaves in the browser: what you write stays in place even after a reload, with no need to export every time. The automatic save is per browser/device; to find the notes elsewhere, use them inside a Board saved to your account, or export the .md file.

Notes and Document reader

Notes is for writing; if instead you just want to read — in read-only mode — the documents in your archive, the journals and your campaigns' context files, that's the job of the Document reader, available in the Board.
